Solution Architect (Domain: Data)

The Bank of Georgia, IT & Data Platforms Tribe, is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise data models. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the data architecture strategy to ensure data consistency, integrity, and availability across the organization. This role requires close collaboration with data stewards, database administrators, business analysts, and software developers to translate business requirements into scalable, high-performing data models.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Model Design: Lead the creation of conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support various business applications and analytical platforms.

• Data Architecture Strategy: Develop and implement data architecture frameworks, standards, and best practices to ensure data consistency and alignment with business goals.

• Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, data stewards, and technical teams to understand data requirements and ensure data models meet business needs.

• Data Integration: Design and optimize data integration processes, ensuring that data models support seamless data flow across systems and applications.

• Data Governance: Ensure that data models adhere to data governance policies, including data quality, metadata management, and data security requirements.

• Performance Optimization: Conduct performance tuning of data models and queries to improve data processing speed and system efficiency.

• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, data dictionaries, and related metadata, ensuring that all stakeholders have access to up-to-date information.

• Tool Selection: Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for data modeling, ensuring they align with organizational needs and technological infrastructure.

• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data modelers and data stewards, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Extensive experience in data modeling, data architecture, and database design, with a strong understanding of both relational and non-relational database systems.

• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, or similar) and SQL. Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.

• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable data models.

• Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Knowledge of Data Governance: Familiarity with data governance principles and practices, including data quality management, metadata management, and data lineage.

• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time.

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
