Data Steward will support and contribute to the effective implementation of Data Governance platform, data governance policies, and processes in the Bank of Georgia. They will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and governance of BOG’s data assets. The main responsibilities include implementation and maintenance of Collibra Data Intelligence Platform and Collibra Data Quality Module in BOG. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to support the data governance function and to foster data governance culture in the organization through oversight, regular feedback, and awareness raising activities.


Skills and Qualifications:

·       5+ years of experience dealing with large scale data management projects.

·       Good understanding of data governance scope, best practices, and frameworks.

·       Experience in areas such as Data Warehouse development, Master Data Management, Database design, Data Modelling, and/or ETL.

·       Proficiency in various aspects of data cataloging, data dictionaries and glossaries is desirable.  

·       Prior experience with or familiarity with data governance platforms (Ataccama, Collibra, OpenMetaData, others) is a plus.

·       Proficiency in SQL to extract, manipulate and/or analyze data.

·       Knowledge of data quality management, data privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance (e.g., Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection) is a plus.

·       Experience in documenting data processes, drafting procedures and standards, BPMN diagrams.  

·       Strong communication and liaison skills to serve as a data governance and data management liaison between leadership, lines of business, IT, and end-users.

·       Knowledge of the banking sector and/or experience with financial sector data will be considered a plus.


Duties and responsibilities:


·   Development and maintenance of the enterprise metadata repository in Collibra Data Platform.

·   Implement and maintain the enterprise-wide data strategy goals and data governance framework pertaining to metadata management, data quality management, monitoring and enforcement of data security and compliance principles.

·       Development and maintenance of the enterprise metadata repositories, business glossary, and reports catalog.

·       Partner and engage with business leaders to identify, classify, and prioritize Critical Data Elements.

·       Collaborate with data architect(s) and data engineering staff to ensure the creation and optimization of consistent data quality checks.

·       Develop and report on key performance indicators regarding data quality, compliance with data-related policies, standards, and other data governance program objectives.

·       Communicate and educate business owners and other stakeholders on data best practices.

·       Work with the Data Protection Office and Information Security to champion best practice in data governance and make sure there are appropriate safeguards in place.

·       Lead and facilitate continuous improvement efforts leading to efficient data governance processes.

Provide oversight for enforcing DQ measurements and reporting.
