Senior Business Analyst

The Bank of Georgia's IT & Data Platforms Tribe - Data Platforms Team, responsible for the development and ownership of the enterprise data warehouse, is seeking a skilled Business Analyst. This role is central to building and refining product-centric Datamarts for various business directions. The ideal candidate will act as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and data engineering, translating complex business requirements into robust, scalable data models that form the core of our trusted data assets. You will be instrumental in shaping the foundational data layer that drives analytics and decision-making across the entire organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders across different business units to gather, analyze, and document requirements for the creation of product-specific Datamarts.

• Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications for the golden data layer, including data source identification, transformation logic, and business rules.

• Design and define the logical data models for Datamarts, ensuring the structure is optimized for performance, scalability, and business analysis.

• Act as the primary bridge between business teams and the data engineering team to ensure the accurate and effective implementation of data products within the warehouse.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary and business glossary for the golden layer to promote data literacy and consistent data usage across the organization.

• Ensure that all data models and Datamarts adhere to the highest standards of data governance, data quality, and security policies.

• Support the data engineering team in the testing and validation of data pipelines and the final data products to ensure they meet business requirements.

• Maintain clear and thorough documentation for all data products, including data lineage, model diagrams, and transformation logic.

• Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytical requirements that will be sourced from the golden layer.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or a similar role, with a focus on data warehousing, data modeling, or building data products.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data analysis, querying, and validating data.

• Proven experience in data modeling and designing data structures within a data warehouse environment.

• Strong understanding of data warehousing principles (e.g., medallion architecture), ETL/ELT processes, and data pipeline development.

• Experience in gathering and translating business requirements into technical specifications for development teams.

• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data quality assurance principles.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams.

• Experience with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to understand end-user consumption patterns is highly beneficial.

• Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and ensure their integrity and accuracy.
