Product Owner – Financial data management squad
JSC Bank of Georgia, is looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Product Owner to join its Financial data management squad. In this critical role, you will lead the development and automation of cutting-edge tools and solutions, ensuring seamless compliance with IFRS standards and regulatory requirements. As the Product Owner, you will play a key role in shaping the bank’s financial transformation by driving the creation of scalable solutions for IFRS consolidation, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborative Leadership: Build strong partnerships with business units, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize both business and technical requirements, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
Strategic Product Vision: Define and communicate a compelling product vision, creating a comprehensive roadmap aligned with the bank’s long-term strategic objectives, regulatory compliance frameworks, and IFRS standards.
Solution Evaluation and Design: Lead the selection, evaluation, and integration of software solutions to address business needs and regulatory requirements, enhancing the bank’s financial reporting capabilities.
IFRS Methodologies and Approaches: Champion the adoption and integration of IFRS-compliant methodologies into the bank's financial systems, ensuring robust and seamless reporting capabilities.
Product Communication: Create clear and comprehensive product artifacts, including user journeys, process flows, mock-ups, and gap analyses, driving clarity and successful implementation across teams.
Agile Leadership: Spearhead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews), ensuring efficient workflows, high-performing teams, and timely project delivery.
Business-IT Alignment: Oversee the integration and optimization of IT solutions, ensuring they meet business needs while complying with IFRS and regulatory standards.
Risk and Dependency Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and dependencies, providing strategic solutions and recommendations to proactively resolve issues and avoid delays.
Implementation Oversight: Manage the delivery of product features in full compliance with IFRS specifications, ensuring they meet scope, quality standards, and are delivered on time.
Required Qualifications:
Professional Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in financial reporting, financial product management, or related fields, ideally within commercial banking.
In-depth knowledge of IFRS standards, banking products, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Proficiency with major database management systems (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL).
Extensive hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools like Jira and Confluence.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as ACCA, CFA, or equivalent are highly valued.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both Georgian and English, with a proven ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
Proactive and solution-oriented, able to thrive in a dynamic regulatory environment.
Proven ability to collaborate across functions and manage complex stakeholder relationships to achieve successful outcomes.
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and maintain focus under pressure, ensuring deadlines are met with quality deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications:
Product Lifecycle Expertise: Advanced understanding of the entire product development lifecycle, from discovery and planning to post-launch optimization.
Regulatory and Reporting Expertise: Deep knowledge of IFRS standards and regulatory reporting requirements specific to the banking sector, with experience working alongside financial auditors and regulatory bodies.
Top-Tier Firm Experience: Experience working with top-tier professional services firms (e.g., Big Four) is highly desirable, offering a global perspective to local challenges.
Certifications: Additional certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) are highly regarded.
