As the Cloud Architect in Bank of Georgia, you will work with our IT team and business units. You will be responsible for researching new and optimizing/modifying existing cloud systems considering business requirements and the current IT landscape. Additionally, you must ensure that IT solutions are developed and implemented to satisfy enterprise-level requirements – such as availability, scalability, and reliability. General responsibilities:

  • Work with IT architects, business units, and other stakeholders to gather information to prepare solution deployment and implementation documents. Using techniques like interviews, work sessions, storyboarding, and prototyping;

  • Evaluate potential solutions, and services, including off-the-shelf and open-source components, to ensure that they meet business and IT requirements;

  • Evaluating existing cloud applications, software, and services.

  • Monitor the company’s cloud privacy in collaboration with IT security.

  • Work closely with the FinOps team to optimize the costs of using cloud computing

  • Identify the best cloud architecture options to help the company accomplish its strategic goals.

  • Understand project scope, project goals, product functionality, and desired features;

  • Evaluate customer needs/issues, analyze business and IT processes, assist in evaluating alternatives, and determine appropriate solutions with IT staff;

  • Help determine the level of effort and time required for solution delivery

  • Define user stories with applicable acceptance criteria in collaboration with business subject-matter experts and IT architects;

  • Analyze high-level business and IT requirements and other functional requirements documents such as process flows, gap analysis, etc.

  • Create documents, solution architecture diagrams, and other artifacts to promote sustainable knowledge management within the organization;

 

Required qualifications:

Work experience:

  • 3-5+ years of experience designing, executing, and supporting Cloud solutions.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or relevant field.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • AWS services (EC2, RDS, EKS, ALB, CloudFront and etc.);

  • Azure and GCP services are a plus;

  • Knowledge of different kind of software solutions (Microservices, DBMS, etc.), best practices and methodologies, including the ability to perform requirements tracing and validations during testing;

  • Ability to effectively conduct requirements gathering sessions and concisely documenting the outcome;

  • Strong communications and vendor negotiation skills;

  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner and to communicate effectively in Georgian and English;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a self-starter;

  • Experience with architecture diagram design;

  • Proven experience creating user stories, use-cases, process flows, wireframes, and data mappings;

  • Ability to plan and analyze workload in the scopes of existing systems and resources;

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently toward goals in a complex, diverse environment with multiple and changing demands;

  • Problem solving and consensus building skills;

  • Customer focus and relationship building skills;

  • Strong organizational and time management skills;

  • Enjoying learning new technologies and putting them into use;

  • Communicative, flexible, team player, a quick learner, with can-do attitude and independent initiative, creative and analytical thinking

  • Kanban/Agile/Scrum experience is a plus.
