The Bank of Georgia's IT & Data Platforms Tribe — Data Platforms Team, responsible for the development and ownership of the enterprise data warehouse, is seeking an Advanced Data Analyst. This role is central to building and refining the Enterprise Central Data Repository. The ideal candidate will act as a critical liaison between business operational systems and data engineering, translating source systems' complex data behavior into scalable models relevant to the enterprise data platform — the core of our trusted data assets. You will be deep in data content, behavior, and modeling decisions that determine how downstream teams across the company consume data, shaping the foundational data layer that drives analytics and decision-making across the entire organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with source system teams (databases, applications, event producers) to negotiate and define data contracts — relational views, Kafka topics, and other interfaces — that we ingest into the Lakehouse.

  • Profile and interpret source data: understand its grain, semantics, edge cases, refresh patterns, historical quirks, and known quality issues.

  • Produce model handoff specifications for the data engineers, including business context, source-to-target mapping, column-level transformation logic, business keys and grain, expected load pattern (full vs. incremental), volume expectations, and known data quality risks.

  • Validate delivery alongside the data engineers: review implementations against your specifications and sign off on data quality before promotion.

  • Act as first responder for data incidents in your domain — triage alerts, lead root cause analysis across the source → Bronze → Silver chain, coordinate with source teams when the issue is upstream, and communicate impact and remediation timelines to downstream consumers. Run blameless post-mortems and convert findings into stronger contracts, additional checks, or model adjustments so that the same incident doesn't recur.

  • Maintain clear and thorough documentation for all data products, including data lineage, model diagrams, and transformation logic.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for data analysis, querying, and validation

  • Proven experience in data modeling and designing data structures within a data warehouse environment

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing principles (e.g., medallion architecture), ETL/ELT processes, and data pipeline development

  • Experience gathering and translating business requirements into technical specifications for development teams

  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data quality assurance principles

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams

  • Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and ensure their integrity and accuracy
